COCONUT HANDLE ANCHORAGE

Anse Cocos is located east of La Digue - just behind Petite Anse. The white sand, natural pools and shady trees make this beach perfect for anchoring.

The sea is generally very calm. However, the waves can be very high during the southeast trade winds (May to October) and water current can be very strong. It is always possible to swim in the natural pools between the rocks.

The most: the freshness of the natural pools.

Most of the time, there are less than 10 people on the beach. So it is quite possible to have the beach all to yourself. One of the first settlements on La Digue was at Anse Cocos. There used to be a large copra plantation there. It is still possible to see the abandoned buildings and the rest of the ovens in which the coconuts were dried. These remains, combined with the exceptional setting, make this place a subject of great interest for photographers. Many shady places, turquoise blue sea, as well as beautiful natural pools make this beach perfect. Enjoy the day for a long swim in the sea, sunbathe on the white sandy beach, worthy of a postcard picture, or simply enjoy the perfect calm.
