With a new visual identity, the 40 asserts its unusual personality at first glance. Although faithful to its Lagoon DNA, it nevertheless adopts a new style: a design with an autonomous, clear and accomplished theme that highlights its large portholes and its outward look, to form a refined and high-performance whole. This is evidenced by the chamfer that runs from the stern to the bow of the boat. A new generation Lagoon, identifiable at first glance.
Outside :
A comfortable cockpit, open to the sea: a dining table on the port side that can accommodate up to twelve guests, a relaxation area on the same side as well as a seat on the aft beam.
An ergonomic helm station accessible from the cockpit or the deck ensures continuous communication between the skipper and his crew.
Wide aft skirts with a large swim platform for easy and safe access to the tender and boarding.
A fitted forward cockpit with sundeck providing an additional living area.
Rigging :
Symbolizing a new generation of Lagoon, the 40 features enhanced performance: a VPLP hull and increased sail plan ensure a better sail area/displacement ratio and make it a fast and seaworthy boat. The choice to move the mast back, directly resulting from VPLP's experience in competition, has many advantages on this catamaran:
- A self-tacking jib for easier maneuvering,
- A large front triangle for a greater choice of downwind sails: a guarantee of performance,
- A shorter boom, making maneuvers much easier,
- A mainsail, with a strong aspect ratio, allowing to take advantage of less disturbed air in the highs for a real gain of performance.
